HOW DO YOU TURN A SPICE COOKING COURSE INTO A CHRISTMAS PRESENT?
To make a present of a 40 spices or an 80 spices cookery course, look at the FAQ’S on the recent queries on this website to find out about the practicalities. It’s simple!
Question: Christmas: What do men dream of?
Answer: Miam Miam – The present you never thought about! (And which will give a lot of pleasure to you too!)
Dear Father Christmas,
I know I ‘m too old, but allow me to send you this little letter – I will keep it to myself – That’s a promise – I really wouldn’t want Mary or the kids to find it.
Firstly, let me introduce myself: David Price, 43, a software engineering manager with M4 Systems and Solutions in Swindon.
My objective: A Christmas present.
F.C, every year at the same time I get very anxious. The summer holiday is over, the children have gone back to school and the shop window displays are changing to a Christmas theme. In a few weeks the Council will illuminate the Christmas decorations that stay in place from one year to the next and my head sinks further into my shoulders.
I know that shortly there’s going to be the annual avalanche of presents of ties, scarves, watches, pens and wallets etc.
No more carbon fiber tennis rackets! I‘ve already got three and I don’t play much tennis since Jimmy ‘Jimbo’ Connors retired!
I couldn’t care less about golf clubs, I only took up golf to keep in with the M.D. and stop Harrison getting the engineering managers job.
So I need your services, I know you don’t exist, you know I haven’t believed in Father Christmas since I was seven. However just in case you do, and if I concentrate very hard, maybe Mary will think of this on her own. I ‘ve noticed some cookery courses by the Miam Miam association, briefly it’s a spice cookery course, practical hands on tuition, everything I love!
Firstly it would make a change from the marks and Spencer’s ready meals that Mary doesn’t have time to defrost between her stretching classes and parent teacher association meetings.
Then again, I love spices. They’re tasty and sensual, OI have wonderful memories from our holiday visits to Thailand.
Then also they are good for your health and fitness, you can cook all your vegetable sin a wok or a steamer with delicious sauces. There are an infinite variety of salads, Venetian pasta, Caucasian chachlik, Moroccan fish dishes or quite simply dishes from our holidays in the Southern French sunshine, bouillabaisse Provencal or Bourride Sete style – with a little chilled local red wine.
Between you and me, dear F.C., cooking relaxes me and keeps me busy since I stopped mountain biking. Let me tell you – sport is tiring. Cooking on the other hand is invigorating. I want to grow old well, become nicely rounded, and enjoy life and good feasts with my friends.
OK, I will stop there because we will soon arrive at my house. After the lights on the right is our estate, the poplars, between the general hospital and the shopping center. A quick zap with the remote and the automatic garage door slides open on its rails; very convenient isn’t it?
Oh, , and then , dear F.C., if you could tell Mary that “Miam Miam spice cookery courses” take place over a weekend in a beautiful village in the Cevennes near Montpellier in a large stone house dating from the 16th century, that should help her to decide on my Christmas present. Mary loves countryside culture.
I look forward to receiving the present.
With my best wishes dear F. C. Yours etc etc.”
